CAMINO ABIERTOTHE ADVENTURE OF PATAGONIA & ARGENTINA
MRC - Route 40
4 days - 3 nights

The MRC – Route 40 is the ideal way of approaching southern Patagonia if you really wish to realize what the destination means. It starts at the airport of the main city of Comodoro Rivadavia, in the Gulf de San Jorge, in the Atlantic coast, crosses Patagonia from east to west, and follows the legendary route 40, which runs all from north to south of Argentina at the foot of the Andes, something like 5000 km of road. We’ll travel the southernmost section of this famous route, all gravel road across the Patagonian steppe, to arrive to Fitz Roy area from the north.

The highlights of the trip are visiting the Cuevas de las Manos (literally Cave of Hands - ancient paintings), lakes Buenos Aires, Pueyrredón and Posadas, we will have the chance in good weather conditions to see mounts San Lorenzo and San Valentín (the two giants of Southern Patagonia) and feel what the Patagonian plains and solitude means. The tour ends upon arrival to El Chaltén.
