Day 2 Pollone Lagoon and Glacier

This day we set out to admire Mount Fitz Roy North face in all its immensity. After breakfast and a transfer to the Electric River, we start our trek through the access door to the Continental Ice Field. We hike through a forest of Lengas along gentle ups and downs until we reach Piedra del Fraile Refuge.
From there the trail becomes more exposed to inclement weather, until we turn south and enter the valley of the Pollone Glacier. Weather permitting, we enjoy our box lunch on this little-visited glacier, surrounded by a circus of vertical rock walls.
We will return on our steps to the Rio Eléctrico, where our vehicle will be waiting for us to return to El Chalten.

Day 3 Trek Los Huemules

After breakfast we go to Estancia Los Huemules, which today is a Natural Reserve of the Patagonian forest. Always with the presence of our guide, we will be able to explore the network of trails and be able to appreciate views of Fitz Roy from its north face, the valley of the Rio Electrico and the Cagliero Glacier. This trail is rarely visited, so it is possible to see the huemul deer, an native animal of Patagonia and very characteristic of this area. We return to our accommodation in the afternoon.
